About Sarah and Her Work
Laughter Yoga (Hasyayoga) (1) has been made popular as an exercise routine by Indian physician, Madan Kataria, through his trainer workshops and 2002 book Laugh For No Reason. Sarah Routman has been trained as a certified Laughter Yoga leader and teacher through Dr. Kataria’s Laughter Yoga International University and her use of the Laughter Yoga trademark is done with permission.

(1)Laughter Yoga encourages creative play with prolonged voluntary laughter that starts intentionally and becomes spontaneous, providing enormous health benefits, especially when combined with yogic breathing and relaxation. No special clothes, positions, or yoga mat is required for this completely portable healthy exercise – making it ideal for the workplace or any place.
(2)Reiki is a healing technique from Japan that alleviates stress and promotes relaxation.
Sarah has shared laughter with thousands of people all over the world and can’t wait to give you the giggles!
"SINCE LIFE is GENERALLY 10% WHAT HAPPENS to US and 90% HOW WE RESPOND to IT, I believe there is a constant need to keep a sense of humor and laugh out loud every day! LAUGHTER YOGA is a great technique to help you laugh even when you don’t think anything is funny, don’t feel like laughing, or are especially in need of a way to make yourself feel better!"
A Note From Sarah
"I love travelling, taking photographs (www.ThroughSarahsEyes.com), walking, laughing, reading, writing, plants, and being creative in any of the arts. Dark chocolate is also important. I have lived in 4 states and visited 20 countries, including Bulgaria, where I created and ran a cultural exchange program for high school students for 8 years.
I care about being healthy and enjoy coaching others about eliminating stress in their lives, being more playful, and staying focused on the present. I believe deeply that by focusing on our STRENGTHS* and the things that we love, we can make the world a better place. The most important thing I ever did was having children. I love to laugh with my family and bring a smile and a giggle to those who really need it. It makes me feel good to know that sharing a laugh and my perspective about life with others, helps them to see their own possibilities more clearly.
*Sarah has experience utilizing STRENGTHFinder 2.0 with individuals and teams to help people generate more self awareness, and sensitivity to others, which leads to more focus, more productivity and more satisfaction in all areas of life.
What’s great about Laughter Yoga is that you get all the health benefits whether you are laughing spontaneously or intentionally. It’s been said that: ‘even if there is nothing to laugh about in your life, laugh on credit!"
